Basic / Independent Officer Training Courses (BOTC/IOTC)

Entry-level training is offered through the Basic Officer Training Course (BOTC) and the Independent Officer Training Course (IOTC). BOTC is a 5-day program designed to transition new officers into the Public Health Service by introducing topics such as organizational procedures, regulations, military customs & courtesies, resource utilization, personnel, and other related topics. BOTC is a prerequisite for IOTC. IOTC is a self-paced course in modular format that develops an in-depth knowledge of the topics presented in BOTC.
